The sun was shining on our Ladies team for their first outing to the Surrey Smash It Festival hosted by Pyrford CC on Bank Holiday Monday. The games against three other Ladies teams were a first opportunity to put into practice all the training over the winter. There was some nice tidy bowling on show - once they had got used to the very short pitch. Sam was pushing it through at a good pace and we have discovered a new "death" bowler in Shellina - who bowled the final over in two games.

Nora put bat to ball in most games and shared a busy final partnership with Charlotte (borrowed from Pyrford) which gave Nora plenty of practice in running between the wickets. Leah bowled well and kept wicket tidily too. We missed the strong batting of Vice Captain Vasi and hope that she can make the next games.

It was clear that the team's performance improved game by game. There is plenty to work on in training before their next festival at the end of May. And as you can see from the picture, the most important thing was that the team enjoyed the day.
