On a tricky pitch at Mitcham, the visitors won the toss and batted first. An assured opening stand of 24 from Josh and Dan got Beddington off to an ideal start, but Mitcham's consistent bowlers kept up the pressure and kept the run rate under control.
In the end four Beddington batters fell to the spin of Raess (3-12) and Hammad (1-9); and four fell to the pace of Sami (2-9) Azizullah (1-16) and Rizwan (1-23), to limit the visitors to 75-8 from their 20 overs. Bilal took two smart catches behind the stumps and Vaksalan bowled economically (0-3) and took a good catch. Ryan (21*) was the pick of the away batters.
In reply the away side's opening bowlers George (0-9) and Alex (0-11) restricted Mitcham to just 20 off the first 6 overs. But some brutal hitting from skipper Bilal (36* off 16 balls) and Sufiyaan (28*) in an unbeaten 50 stand saw Mitcham home with 8 overs to spare. Beddington's sharp fielding was illustrated by a brilliant one-handed catch from Ryan and the bloodied and brave Abraz.
