The under14s finally managed to get a game on. But they were second best to a strong Old Rutlishians team.
Our roving reporter Krish takes up the story,
"It was a really tough game for Mitcham cc. It was a 20 over match only three of their batsmen batted. And unfortunately Mitcham had all of their batsmen on the field. Well done to the captain Mohammed Butt for being an amazing captain and also hitting 24 runs which was the highest runs hit by a single person (in the Mitcham team). We had lost by 54 runs. Great sportsmanship was shown by their players and to be honest it was an amazing game to be played."
It certainly was. Well done to Mitcham's bowlers who bowled only 3 wides. And great debuts for Saffi and Sulaimaan. But the star of the show was Henry Wyke who scored a cool 80 for Ruts without giving a hint of a chance.
